This fully guided 4-hour, 40km round trip adventure (20km in, 20km back) blends exploration, wildlife viewing, and eco-friendly travel through one of Alberta's most spectacular and least visited landscapes.

The North side of Banff offers rare and extraordinary viewing opportunities. Guests may encounter:

  • Free roaming bison within Banf National Park
  • Elk, deer and wild horses in the Ya Ha Tinda region
  • Expansive mountain views untouched by heavy tourism

How to get there from Sundre

Appears as 'Diamond J - JKL Trail Rides' on Google maps

From Sundre Tim Hortons travel West on Hwy 584 for 8km to Coal Camp Road, Range Road 63. This road starts as a paved road and turns into a gravel road. So allow additional time for travelling to gravel road conditions. Turn left and travel 45km to Secondary 734. Turn left and continue for 2.8 km, DO NOT CROSS the big blue bridge with the blue arches and continue for another 20km to Eagle Creek.

You will pass the Wildhorse Flats location. Keep driving for another 14km. FOLLOW THE DIAMOND J SIGN.

You will see a sign on the right that reads "Diamond J". Turn into the driveway and park in the parking lot.

Note: Google maps may take you to our Wildhorse flats location, but if you've booked at Diamond J, continue on another 14km. Follow the Diamond J sign.
